A truly stunning interactive video from the Arcade Fire and Chris Milk. Using all the jiggery-pokery involved in HTML 5, and, in particular, its video embedding capability. Enter a postcode, or area, and the video becomes tailored around a distinct place, with video segments popping up all over your screen. Ground-breaking stuff. [Best viewed in a Chrome browser]

Choreographed windows, interactive flocking, custom rendered maps, real-time compositing, procedural drawing, 3D canvas rendering… this Chrome Experiment has them all. “The Wilderness Downtown” is an interactive interpretation of Arcade Fire’s song “We Used To Wait” and was built entirely with the latest open web technologies, including HTML5 video, audio, and canvas. My mate Joe was cracking me up with his impression of Coco last night and as a result I’ve had the song stuck in my head so I figured I’d post it this morning. It also gives me the perfect opportunity to mention that she’s playing at the Queen of Hoxton tomorrow night after Field Day, supported by the excellent Phantom, they’ve got a late license and a new funktion One soundsystem, sounds good, see ya there.

I can’t wait to see Phoenix, lets all hope that the curse of Field Day is lifted and its super sunny. As always the lineup is bang on point, bar Phoenix we are especially looking forward to seeing the likes of Gold Panda and Caribou, whatever the weather the east end crowd are shore to turn out for Victoria Parks best festival, see you down the front. Loving this vid of the P22 Chorus posted on the website, they’re a 5th grade choir from New York, something like the real life Glee, their Gaga cover is BIG.

Love this video for Breakbot – a self-proclaimed, awesome, sexy Frenchman signed to Ed Banger Records. The video was brilliantly directed and put together by Irina Dakava and consists of around 2000 individual watercolor paintings, all of which must of taken fucking ages… pretty impressive stuff. Check some images after the jump.

The Sanderson hotels, ‘Sanderson predicts’ series started last night with a performance from I Blame Coco. I hadn’t paid Coco much attention, despite all the exposure, so had few expectations. Playing acoustically amongst the foliage in the Sanderson courtyard she sounded really good, definitely her father’s daughter, possessing that husky ska-pop vocal that is so reminiscent of him. As the magazine covers she’s graced claim; she is fucking cool, totally grunge and waifish, beautiful in an interesting way. It’s a fair (or easy) prediction to say she’s gonna be MASSIVE because obviously she is. ‘Sanderson Predicts’ continues with Othello Woolf on June 17th.

Paradise Garage 1981 from the site A Garage Tribute

Here’s a recording of my set from the weekend at Hot Boy Dancing Spot. A small, initimate and sweaty basement of a Dalston gay club, packed from the second the doors open and everyone dancing the whole time. It’s hard to find a more perfect place to DJ at.

Generally pretty good, the sound at camp wasn’t up to much, OWTIC contributor Dan said it sounded better in the toilet. Their brand of jungle influenced, Indy, electro makes them a great booking for carnival and you’re sure to hear stand out tune ‘Real Life’ dropped amongst the dancehall. For me the more vocal tracks work better. Being the end of their tour all they could say on stage which was how much they were looking forward to going home, which is pretty annoying and they did seem to think what they were doing was damn good. Worth catching if they play any of the festivals although I think they’ll have to write a few more ‘Real Lives’ if they’re to have any major impact.

No holding back on UNKLE’s new video, directed Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones. As well as being treated to 6 minutes of nakedness of supermodel Liberty Ross it is a pretty trippy yet visually stunning video that follows on from the dope album artwork they released a few weeks ago.
