Destroyed Ipod Nano\'s

Michael Tompert has created a homage to Apple by destroying some of its more iconic products from the last few years. Using a variety of methods, including shooting holes in them or running them over with a train, he has created a highly detailed and beautiful set of photo’s, which he showed off last week in an exhibition in California.

Check out this video where some of worlds best riders take part in a 3D art project involving a huge 3D Projection Mapping installation. The riders are tracked by infra-red in real time and appear to have direct interactions with the projections on the 2 jumps and giant inflatable sphere in the middle.

The event, known as Red Bull Off The Planet, was created by ENNES in Melbourne, Australia. Check out the more in depth ‘making of’ video after the jump…!

Dentsu London have created an interesting stop motion video titled “Making Future Magic: iPad Light Painting”. The interesting part is that it is composed of hundreds (possibly thousands) of light painted images that were created using an iPad.

The result is a very cool video, which includes a breakdown of how it all works so you get an idea of how complicated the whole thing was to create.

A truly stunning interactive video from the Arcade Fire and Chris Milk. Using all the jiggery-pokery involved in HTML 5, and, in particular, its video embedding capability. Enter a postcode, or area, and the video becomes tailored around a distinct place, with video segments popping up all over your screen. Ground-breaking stuff. [Best viewed in a Chrome browser]

Choreographed windows, interactive flocking, custom rendered maps, real-time compositing, procedural drawing, 3D canvas rendering… this Chrome Experiment has them all. “The Wilderness Downtown” is an interactive interpretation of Arcade Fire’s song “We Used To Wait” and was built entirely with the latest open web technologies, including HTML5 video, audio, and canvas. Daft Punk Helmet

Time to get the DIY kit out and try and follow in Harisson Krix’s 749 footsteps to make this fully functioning Daft Punk Helmet!!

It took him over 17 months, but the finished product looks well worth it.. Now i just need someone who is any good at making things to help me out! Any volunteers?

Check out the very cool video after the Jump!

Disco Chair

The name may conjure up visions of a tacky throwback from the 70′s, but this is actually one cool looking chair.. i would definitely buy one!

Its made from 200 meters of Electroilluminescant wire which can be flashed on and off for your own home disco effect.

The new iPhone was finally released today to a chorus of cheers from the patient Apple fans around the world.

Queues formed outside stores throughout the uk in the early hours (or yesterday in the case of Apples flagship uk store in Regent street), and I’m afraid to say that I was in one of them.. Were you?

We’ve posted about something similar to this before but it doesn’t make this any less amazing. The juxtaposition of the old decrepit castle and the contemporary visual projection is what makes this fucking cool. I love the shots in which you can see the whole town underneath the insanely animated castle. Imagine how trippy this would be had you just been randomly walking past.

This architectural mapping projection from the Branchage Film Festival was done by London Seeper.

If you have ever wanted to live somewhere with a fantastic view, say San Fransisco bay or perhaps Sydney Harbour, but have never had the opportunity, then Rational Craft have the perfect solution for you with Winscape. The only problem is you will need two huge plasma televisions, a fairly powerful computer, a spare Wii remote, light sensor and Handy Andy to build it all for you!!

The result is actually quite cool.. A dual window display with a choice of scenes, that actually move depending on where you are in relation to the window to give you a very convincing depth perspective. You do have to wear a big piece of metal around your neck, but its worth it right?

With the arrival of the new Hipstamatic App on the iphone it seems a little pointless to carry on collecting those kooky plastic cameras we hunt for down the market. And what an app it is! The Hipstamatic is the iphones very own vintage camera app that lets you select lens, film and flash combination to create your own analog style vintage photographs. Upload direct to Facebook or Flickr and enter monthly competitions direct from this impressive app. Photos: Flickr Web: hipstamaticapp.com. Check out a few of the OWTIC teams efforts after the jump
